The Sandberg Game

On June 23rd, 1984, Ryne Sandberg catapulted into the national spotlight with his spectacular game on National TV. He hit 2 game tying home runs against the premier closer of the day, Bruce Sutter. It was this game that helped Sandberg leap over Tommy Herr to get his first start in the All Star Game, and it began his run at the 1984 MVP. Lots of people can say they were at that game, but I can prove I was at that game. In honor of Ryne Sandbergs enshrinement in the National Baseball Hall of Fame, I present you my ticket stub and scorecard from that historic day.. (Yes, I know the scorecard is a mess and I do not follow all the standard scoring conventions, but this is my scorecard from that day)
